About Happy Bootcamps
Happy Bootcamps is a global health, fitness and social initiative and it is one of the projects of nonprofit organisation Lifestyle and Preventive Medicine. Happy Bootcamps aims to reach one billion people worldwide and spread a message of health and happiness through activity, connectivity and education. Happy Bootcamps were established in 2010 by Dr Agnes Electra Chlebinska and David W Evans in London, and has since expanded to twelve countries nationwide and run a variety of health and fitness programs, promoting whole-food plant base nutrition, positive psychology, exercise, the responsible use of Earth’s resources and the idea of connecting all nations towards one mission; health, happiness and global wealth.
In collaboration with the General Sports authority of Saudi Arabia, Happy bootcamps was invited to launch a pilot project to help combat the growing occurrence of lifestyle related diseases across the kingdom. And within only a few weeks, David and Agnes were able to mobilise fitness providers, universities and hospitals in Saudi Arabia, involving thousands of people and turning Happy Bootcamps into a national phenomena. Happy Bootcamps has been recognised as one of the first to organise and lead officially female health and fitness events in Saudi Arabia educating women, transforming their mindsets and beliefs, and building a passion for health and fitness. Which was rewarded with feedback and immense praise from the kingdom’s government officials.
The World Health Organisation cites that worldwide obesity has more than doubled since 1980. And in 2014, more than 1.9 billion adults, 18 years and older, were overweight. Of these, over 600 million were obese. 39% of adults aged 18 years and over were overweight in 2014, and 13% were obese. These numbers have increase since and at the present USA, UK and Golf countries lead in this ‘epidemic’, almost 70% of their population is now overweight. Common health problems that result from obesity are increased risks of acquiring cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal disorders, diabetes, and some of the most common cancers. Most of these chronic diseases are preventable by simple measures such as regular physical activity, a diet rich on whole foods and plants, managing stress and building supportive social network.
Happy Bootcamps sessions are Free of charge and suitable for different ages and fitness levels.
